Compared with most popular FMT100 (which has only 2 wires with special clamp connector for fast power cable connection to the boat battery), the FMB202 has:

The FMB202 is using Quad-band 2G GSM: 900/1800 MHz; 850/1900 MHz to communicate GPS positions to our servers.
When it is out at sea with no GSM signal, will SAVE all positions in a large internal memory, and will transmit when will re-connect to GSM signal.
FMB202 is a waterproof (IP67) tracker with, internal high gain GPS/GNSS and GSM antennas and integrated backup battery. Device is designed to work longer without power supply. FMB202 with NiMH battery can work up to 1-2 days in power saving mode, 6-30V power supply makes FMB202 suitable also for motorbikes.
The main purpose of the internal battery is to send an alert if the GPS is disconnected from the boat battery (because of a possible security incident) and to transmit location for some time after that (up to 1-2 days depending on the power saving mode it was set up).
Connecting one of digital inputs to engine switch, you will be able check journey engine hours and calculate fuel costs.
You can also get updates on cruising miles covered or total engine hours accumulated to notify you of service intervals on your engine.
